The ADAPT Collection Product Photography Shoot for Redpost Equestrian Ltd

Back in November of 2021, I was approached by Redpost Equestrian to photograph their new brand of equestrian clothing. This was my first external product shoot, so I was extremely excited.

I set out with my camera, lenses, and studio equipment on a brisk Thursday morning to Redpost Equestrian's Totnes store to meet with their marketing team, models, and other members of the company who were all very welcoming. We placed the studio equipment in a room in the office and headed off to get the horses and models ready.

We started on the showfield with a gorgeous young mare called Moneypenny, who was a little confused at first, but got into the swing of things very quickly. Models Claire and Laura have been a part of Redpost Equestrian for many years, so it was great to have them model the range.

The ADAPT collection consists of base layers and riding tights, ideal for both riding and casual wear, so the marketing team wanted to capture the lifestyle images in these disciplines.

The early morning Sun made for some harsh shadows, but we worked around it and created some lovely lifestyle shots of the clothing in its equestrian environment.

Next we moved into the arena so that we could capture the clothing in the saddle. We picked up another lovely mare, Kiara, on the way, before continuing the shoot mounted. Both horses were perfectly behaved, and we got some great natural photos of the clothing, ranging from shallow depth of field close-ups focussing on the branding and details, to action shots of the items in use.

After returning the horses to their stables, we moved back out to the showfield to continue with some more lifestyle images. For this part of the shoot, we introduced a fantastic yellow Land Rover, which complemented the look perfectly. This car has had a long history as a part of Redpost Equestrian, and it was so exciting to be able to include it in the shoot. Yet again, we shot a mixture of close-up, candid, and action photographs, really capturing the versaility of the clothing.

We removed the Land Rover and finished up outside with some more closeup shots of the clothing, really capturing the elegant design and colours. I am really pleased with how they came out.

Finally, we set up my studio equipment and got to work on the white background images for the website. The studio consisted of two flash guns on tripod stands with reflectors and diffusers attached for lighting the model, two continuous softboxes for lighting the background, and a large white paper backdrop suspended by background supports.

They all came out really well and we got all the shots Redpost were after.

Thank you so much to Redpost Equestrian for the opportunity to be a part of this new collection, I absolutely loved the experience, and learnt a lot in the process. I look forward to working with Redpost in the future. Shop the ADAPT range, here.

Thank you so much for reading. Please get in touch if you like what you see and are interested in booking a shoot with me, or have any questions about my work.
